Associate Director of Engagement

About the Role

The role involves managing and leading various aspects of the organization, including staff, relationships, and communications.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Engagement Team staff, fostering trust and collaboration, providing professional growth support, and setting annual objectives and KPIs for Engagement programs.
• Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers worldwide, delivering high-profile engagements and workshops with diverse international stakeholders.
• Serve as a primary thought leader by distilling decision-useful insights from climate tools and analysis, and building out a formal thought leadership function.
• Oversee Communications and Partnerships functions, ensuring strategic alignment of messaging and fostering mission-aligned relationships.

This role creates positive change by leading Climate Interactive's engagement efforts to drive effective and equitable climate action worldwide, using climate simulation tools to engage decision-makers and motivate impactful climate policy and investment decisions.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of seven years climate engagement experience in policymaker/corporate executive engagements, climate model/data analysis engagement, thought leadership, and media relations.
• Demonstrated expertise in at least one sector: national/international climate policy, climate scenario analysis, climate-related financial disclosures, renewable energy transition, or greenhouse gas reduction pathways.
• Proven track record as an effective line manager with at least one reference from a former or current direct report required.
• Exceptional relationship-building skills, editorial expertise, and ability to distill insights from technical climate tools for decision-makers.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Starting salary between $125,000-$155,000
