Area Accountant

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries and document business transactions, preparing monthly and quarterly operational performance reports.
• Assist the Area Controller in ensuring proper internal controls including compliance with company policies, Sarbanes Oxley, and other statutory requirements.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and statistical data, fully analyzing financial statements in accordance with GAAP and Company policy.
• Support the Area Controller during annual budget and interim forecasting processes and assist with analytical review.

This role supports Republic Services' environmental mission by ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance, enabling the company to advance circularity, support decarbonization, and create a more sustainable world through waste management and recycling services.

• Accounting experience with thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Intermediate MS Excel skills and experience with general ledger software, Oracle accounting software, and other industry programs.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills across various organizational levels.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, work independently, and collaborate within a team environment.
