Application Specialist III

The Application Specialist III will:

• Investigate, diagnose, and solve complex application-related issues and fulfill service requests for standard and ad-hoc offerings.
• Maintain security and functionality through the application of temporary fixes and workarounds, and update knowledge base to facilitate future resolution of common errors.
• Create user stories and defects to be reviewed/accepted by product teams, and serve as a mentor and resource to application specialists with lesser experience.
• Train onboarding team members and actively participate in the department's continual improvement initiatives.

This role supports Republic Services' environmental services operations by ensuring the reliability and functionality of critical application software, enabling the company to efficiently manage recycling, waste, and sustainability initiatives that advance circularity and decarbonization efforts.

Required qualifications include:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience with ITSM processes and toolsets, and supporting enterprise level applications in a virtual support environment.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience writing SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data, and with knowledge management methodologies and toolsets.
• Advanced level IT certification in a specialty area (Technical, Process, etc.) and foundation level certification in IT Service Management.
• Comprehension of ITSM frameworks in relation to service delivery, understanding of agile project management processes, and minimum of 2 years of experience with problem identification techniques.
