Analyst, Mission Finance

• Provide technical and decision support to department operations including Administration, IT, HR, Finance, Legal & Compliance, and Global Operations.
• Support the US Region’s Legal & Regulatory department in annual budget submission and develop effective reporting of budget and actuals.
• Organize data, build spreadsheets and financial reports, review contracts and grants, perform financial analysis and projections, and prepare journal entries.

This role supports the Environmental Defense Fund's mission to preserve the natural systems on which life depends by ensuring effective financial management and resource allocation across departments, enabling the organization to maximize its environmental impact.

• 3+ years of progressive experience in a Finance and Accounting department within a non-profit organization and an Associate's degree required (Bachelor's may substitute for up to 2 years of experience).
• Demonstrated familiarity with GAAP and thorough understanding of non-profit accounting principles and grants management.
• Proven knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and reporting; ability to perform complex financial analysis.
• Expertise in MS Office Suite, especially Excel (formulas, pivot tables, charts).
