AI Research Scientist Intern (Summer 2026)

Core responsibilities:

• Conduct research at the intersection of machine learning and biology in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team of scientists
• Experiment with large datasets and novel techniques to advance the state-of-the-art in machine learning
• Communicate research work to a multi-disciplinary audience, both internally and externally
• Work on fundamental problems in machine learning for biology and chemistry, potentially including generative models, long-context techniques, mechanistic interpretability, NLP, or agentic systems

This role contributes to accelerating fundamental research and creating AI-first companies that transform human health and sustainability, addressing humanity's most urgent challenges through cutting-edge science and computational ventures.

Required qualifications:

• Current PhD student in Computer Science, Computational Biology, or related field
• Experience with machine learning research and applications to problems in biology and/or chemistry
• Fluency in Python and experience implementing ML methods with standard tools and packages (e.g., PyTorch, JAX)

Preferred qualifications:

• Publications in CS, ML, Computational Biology or similar computational field
• Experience with large, high-dimensional datasets
• Experience with generative models, natural language processing, graphical neural networks, reinforcement learning, or similar
• Familiarity with software development, including git and public cloud computing resources (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
