Africa Communications Consultant

• Support public communications efforts in Africa to demonstrate growing support for the Fossil Fuel Treaty, including social media, digital content, and traditional media strategy.
• Create and distribute communications materials such as press releases, comms packs, website content, talking points, and social media content.
• Coordinate communications around key regional and national moments, and develop relationships with journalists and partners across Africa.

This role helps build momentum for a global Fossil Fuel Treaty, supporting African nation-states to champion a just transition away from fossil fuels and amplifying the voices of communities most affected by climate change.

• Minimum five years of professional communications campaigning experience in Africa.
• Demonstrated experience in social media, digital content production, and media relations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities.
• Fluency in English; fluency in French is desired.

Compensation: $2000 - $2500 USD per month, depending on experience, location, and agreed working hours. Remote work with some travel. Part-time consultancy contract.
