Advocacy & Policy Strategist

• Lead OHEA's state legislative agenda and track policy priorities through coalitions, campaigns, and advisory meetings.
• Build relationships with elected officials and decision-makers to advocate for racial justice-informed health equity policies.
• Create accessible policy and advocacy updates for community education and organizing.
• Convene OHEA's monthly Policy Committee and coordinate community engagement initiatives.

This role advances health equity by centering communities of color in policy decisions, dismantling systemic racism, and shifting power imbalances to create healthier, more just communities in Oregon.

• 5-7 years experience in social, racial, gender justice, and/or health equity, and coalition building.
• 3-5 years experience with state and county policy and advocacy work, including community organizing, campaign management, or lobbying.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills; ability to work remotely and independently.
• Lived experience and deep understanding of health inequities, racial injustice, and Oregon's political landscape.

Part-time exempt (36 hours/week), benefits-eligible. Salary range: $70,000 - $85,000 per year, based on experience. Remote work environment.
