What you will drive
About
The Advancement Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the Advancement team in maintaining accurate and up-to-date data, acknowledging donors, and providing exceptional donor service. This position is responsible for leading data entry, supporting Foundation Relations staff, and serving as the first point of contact for donor inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Lead data entry in the CRM for gifts, grants, contacts, communications, and activities to ensure data integrity and support decision-making
- Acknowledge all donors in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner, updating acknowledgment copy regularly
- Support Foundation Relations staff in maintaining funder portals, contact information, and streamlining data across platforms
- Serve as the first point of contact for donor inquiries, ensuring timely triage and follow-up
- Support Communications Director in creating and maintaining an annual communications/advancement calendar
- Schedule and post content across owned digital platforms, pulling basic analytics from email, web, and social channels
- Provide scheduling support for Advancement team meetings, funder/donor calls, and cross-departmental coordination
- Maintain shared Advancement files, process documents, and organize systems for departmental access
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in a related field, such as advancement, development, or customer service
- Proficiency in CRM software, specifically [insert software name]
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

What makes you a great fit
Required qualifications:
- At least 1-3 years of experience in communications or fundraising support, preferably in a not-for-profit organization
- Proven ability to stay organized and manage project inputs across multiple teams and deliverables
- Experience working with CRMs (Neon strongly preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective communication via phone, video, and email
- Strong experience applying social lenses of race, class, gender, and decolonization in communications
- Impeccable judgment and discretion with sensitive and confidential information
- Fluent in spoken and written English
