2026 WPI Fellowship Program

• Participate in an immersive nine-week cross-country program exploring U.S. media, culture, politics, and current affairs
• Meet with and interview subject matter experts in media outlets, think tanks, and advocacy organizations across multiple U.S. cities
• Write for the WPI website and other outlets as assigned, sharing insights with audiences back home
• Participate in all scheduled briefings, events, roundtable discussions, and program evaluations

This fellowship advances journalistic excellence by providing international journalists firsthand experience with the role and impact of a free press in a major democracy, fostering transparency and accountability in institutions worldwide.

• At least five years of full-time employment in print, broadcast, or online journalism (news/editorial departments)
• Currently employed as a non-U.S. journalist working outside of the United States
• Fluency in both written and spoken English
• Potential for leadership and acceptance of different cultures

• Roundtrip airfare to the United States and all program-related domestic travel
• Comfortable lodging provided throughout the program
• Modest daily allowance for food expenses
