Mission
What you will drive
The Protection Technical Advisor will:
- Provide technical support in the design and development of protection programs for assigned countries/regions to ensure appropriate, effective, and safe delivery of assistance for populations facing protection risks
- Train colleagues on a range of protection program approaches and lead or support global and country-led initiatives to extend scale and quality in line with IRC's Safety Outcome Strategy
- Spend at least 80% of time delivering technical assistance in-person and remotely to country colleagues focused on protection programming design, implementation, and learning support
- Support continuous sectoral learning and IRC technical leadership by documenting program learnings and collaborating with other technical teams

What makes you a great fit
Required qualifications and skills:
- Master's/post-graduate degree in social work, law, humanitarian affairs, or relevant field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 7 years implementing/managing humanitarian protection programming in diverse crisis or post-crisis settings in at least two sub-sectors: child protection, women's protection and empowerment, peace justice and rule of law
- Experience providing technical support to diverse teams in cross-cultural settings and at a distance, with expertise in areas like GBV prevention/response, protection of civilians, access to justice, MHPSS programming
- Fluency in English and at least one additional IRC language (Arabic, French, or Spanish), with strong communication, influencing, training, and analytical skills
