Leave and Benefits Specialist

The Leave and Benefits Specialist is primarily responsible for the day-to-day administration and support of employee leave of absence programs. This includes coordinating closely with third-party leave vendors, monitoring claim activity, ensuring accurate and timely processing, and responding to employee and manager inquiries related to leave.

In addition, the role may provide backup support for health and welfare benefit administration as needed, including assisting with eligibility updates, vendor coordination, and employee inquiries, to ensure continuity of service and operational coverage.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Serve as the primary internal liaison for the third-party leave and disability vendor
• Provide day-to-day support for health and welfare benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and flexible spending accounts
• Ensure accurate data flow between leave vendors, benefits administrators, HRIS, and payroll systems
• Support Open Enrollment activities, including testing, audits, employee support, and issue resolution

Qualifications and requirements for this role include:

• 2–4 years of experience in leave administration, benefits administration, or HR operations
• Experience working with third-party leave and/or benefits vendors
• Familiarity with HRIS, benefits administration platforms, and payroll systems
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills in a high-volume environment
