Mission
What you will drive
As a Fundraising Volunteer, you will primarily support the Communications Team in researching fundraising opportunities, including foundation grants accepting applications for which Lighthouse Relief may be eligible. Your work may also include supporting the Communications Team in structuring approaches and creating content for fundraising events such as Giving Tuesday through GlobalGiving.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Identify funding opportunities and maintain an overview of institutional potential donors;
- Draft and edit grant proposals and funding applications;
- Support donor acquisition campaigns and outreach activities;
- Contribute to the development of sustainable partnerships to enable new projects;
- Assist the Communications Coordinator in relevant aspects of Lighthouse Reliefโs; communications and advocacy related to fundraising activities;
- Maintain effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders and fundraising groups, including attending regular meetings re: fundraising collaborations;
- Ensure that safeguarding standards and privacy policy are understood and respected.
**Reports to:** Communications Coordinator, Fundraising Committee
**Requirements**
- Knowledge and experience of the situation for people on the move in Europe, especially the context in Greece;
- Previous experience in fundraising is required; especially experience with researching institutional donors; writing Letters of Inquiry to prospective funders; and completing grant applications;
- Strong commitment to our vision of a world where human rights are protected, in which the dignity of all people seeking refuge is honoured and upheld.
- Motivation to empower people seeking refuge and facilitate opportunities for their self-determination;
- Initiative, ability to work independently, and strong communication skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills;
- Experience working with vulnerable populations is an asset;
- Experience working on social media, in advertising or business management is an asset;
- Excellent writing skills in English; proficiency in other languages is an asset;
- Availability of at least 8 hours (or 1 day) per week on a voluntary basis;
- Availability for meetings/calls during the working day (Greek time).
