What you will drive

  • Develop strategies for how the Zoox robotaxi interacts and communicates with riders and other road users.
  • Work across the org to design for the rider experience in key moments of the Zoox service.
  • Create seamless flows, intuitive interfaces, and meaningful interactions that are accessible and delightful, to build trust, enable new scenarios, and increase value to the customers.

Profile

What makes you a great fit

  • Currently working towards a M.S. or advanced degree in a UX Design or HCI
  • Must be returning to school to continue your education upon completing this internship
  • Good academic standing
  • Able to commit to a 12-week internship beginning in May or June of 2026
  • At least one previous industry internship, co-op, or project completed in a relevant area
  • Ability to relocate to the Bay Area, California or Boston for the duration of the internship
  • Basic knowledge of design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe (Still & Animation), ProtoPie, Flinto, FramerX, etc. A portfolio showcasing relevant design work
  • Proven problem-solving ability and strong user empathy
  • Clearly articulates the rationale behind their design decisions

What's in it for you

The monthly salary range for this position is $5,500 to $7,500. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level of education. Additional benefits may include medical insurance, and a housing stipend (relocation assistance will be offered based on eligibility).
