Mission

What you will drive

  • Welcome new survivors to the Awake community through individual welcome calls
  • Coordinate all aspects of Survivor Circles, including registration, communication, planning with the Survivor Circle Team, and facilitating some circles as needed
  • Oversee The Well, Awake's community forum for survivors
  • Assist with planning and facilitation of the two annual survivor retreats
  • Provide occasional individual support to survivors in our community when needed
  • Coordinate survivor participation in Bridge Dialogues, the Survivor Advisory Panel, and Survivor Stories on the Awake blog
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers to serve in Awake's survivor ministries
  • Direct the Encourager Ministry in providing timely support to individual survivors
  • Conduct proactive outreach to survivors in the broader community

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills to manage communications, documentation, and program logistics
  • Solid understanding of Catholic practices, culture, and spirituality
  • Emotionally grounded and committed to healthy boundaries, self-care, and practices that support long-term balance and resilience
  • Professional or volunteer background in victim/survivor support or advocacy, pastoral care or chaplaincy, mental health or social work, Catholic ministry, or trauma-informed care
  • Experience in volunteer coordination, small group facilitation, program development, or Spanish fluency is valued
