Staff Mobile App Engineer - App Squad (f/m/x) - remote

• Own and evolve the technical architecture of Refurbed's mobile app built with React Native/Expo
• Partner with product and design leads to define long-term app strategy from navigation to experimentation frameworks
• Design and implement cross-cutting systems for performance, scalability, and modularization
• Guide the integration of AI-powered experiences (chat-based shopping, voice, image search) into the mobile app

This role contributes to making consumption more sustainable by supporting Refurbed's marketplace for refurbished products, which helps reduce CO2 emissions by extending product lifecycles and reducing electronic waste.

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 4+ years in React Native/Expo
• Deep expertise in TypeScript, React Native, and modern mobile architecture patterns (navigation, modularization, OTA updates)
• Proven experience leading app architecture evolution and mentoring multiple teams or squads
• Proficiency in native iOS (Swift) and/or Android (Kotlin) bridging and advanced SDK integration

• Fully remote setting with option to work from Vienna office
