Mission

What you will drive

The Senior Manager of Campaigns will be responsible for leading IEC's newest local-level advocacy efforts to expand renewable energy deployment across Illinois. This role will focus on:

  • Design and implement IEC's campaign strategy to persuade county boards and local governments to approve renewable energy projects
  • Identify, recruit, and mobilize community leaders and members and local organizations to advocate for renewable energy development
  • Attend and represent IEC at local board, zoning, and planning meetings related to renewable energy projects
  • Develop accessible materials, fact sheets, and presentations to educate communities, elected officials, and stakeholders about the benefits of renewable energy
  • Design and deliver "Train the Trainer" workshops to equip partners and volunteers with the skills to advocate effectively in their own communities
  • Collaborate with statewide and regional partners, renewable developers, and local advocates to ensure alignment and coordinated messaging
  • Work with IEC's communications team to craft local narratives, support media outreach, and create digital content highlighting success stories and addressing misinformation
  • Track campaign outcomes, maintain engagement metrics, and report progress toward goals to IEC leadership and funders
  • Partner closely with IEC's programs, development, and communications teams to ensure local campaign work supports broader organizational strategies
