Senior Software Engineer, Networking & Real-Time Systems

Core responsibilities:

• Architect a network bonding framework to aggregate bandwidth across multiple cellular providers to ensure zero-drop connectivity
• Build sophisticated simulations to stress test the networking stack against edge cases like tunnel entries, rural dead zones, and network congestion
• Develop and implement custom congestion control algorithms specifically tuned for high-bitrate, low-latency video streaming
• Partner with Hardware and Embedded teams to optimize the network stack directly on the vehicle gateway

This role creates positive change by ensuring reliable remote vehicle operation over cellular networks, which is critical for making autonomous vehicle technology accessible and safe for widespread adoption.

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of industry experience (or PhD with focus on Networking/Distributed Systems and 3+ years industry experience)
• Deep understanding of Linux networking stack, socket programming, and data movement from physical to application layer
• C++ expertise with ability to write performant, thread-safe code and understanding of real-time systems
• Protocol expertise beyond TCP/UDP, with understanding of how to implement FEC or ARQ for high-mobility environments
