Senior Attorney for Enforcement Program

• Develop, analyze, and execute enforcement and other legal strategies to reduce pollution.
• Perform a range of litigation and legal tasks to support litigation and other advocacy efforts, including: legal research; drafting comments, complaints, motions, briefs, and discovery requests and responses; and oral advocacy.
• Work with internal and external experts to develop factual, technical, and scientific support for citizen suit enforcement actions and other advocacy efforts.
• Represent EIP and other organizations in federal and state litigation, administrative proceedings, and public meetings.

This role creates positive change by holding industrial polluters and government agencies accountable for compliance with environmental laws, reducing pollution from industrial sources through citizen suit enforcement actions and other advocacy strategies, and protecting public health and natural resources.

• A law degree and active bar membership in good standing.
• 8+ years of legal experience, including experience in environmental law.
• Strong preference for attorneys with experience enforcing violations of environmental laws.
• Excellent analytical, research, writing, organizational, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.

EIP offers competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and a supportive working environment. Salary is based on a nonprofit scale and is commensurate with skills and experience. For this position, the salary range is $105,000 - $135,000.
