Security Engineering Intern

The Security Intern will be responsible for supporting various security functions, with a focus on process improvement and automation:

• Assist in vulnerability and risk management, including triage, prioritization, tracking, and documentation of vulnerabilities and security risks.
• Contribute to software supply chain and application security efforts, such as reviewing engineering design documents and understanding software dependencies.
• Support security operations and compliance, including data gathering for audits (e.g., SOC 2) and maintaining security policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual security tasks and integrate security workflows with internal tooling and systems.

This role contributes to maintaining a secure, reliable, and compliant platform for Voltus's energy solutions, directly supporting the integrity of systems and data in a cutting-edge industry focused on intelligent grid solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or related technical field OR currently pursuing Master's degree with relevant technical background.
• Working knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and command-line tools; proficiency in scripting/programming (Python, Bash, Go, or similar).
• Understanding of core security concepts: authentication/authorization (OAuth, RBAC), network security, encryption, vulnerability management.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, or similar); strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation.
