Programme Analyst: Climate Change & Innovation

Core responsibilities:

• Support ESAR country offices in developing a pipeline of proposals to mobilize climate finance, especially for climate and health interventions.
• Support research, advocacy, and evidence-building work on climate change and environment, including updating relevant country profiles.
• Support the development of a strategy on youth, peace, and climate security.
• Support delivery of two UNFPA ongoing regional climate change and innovation projects delivered in 10 countries.

This role strengthens climate resilience and innovation in vulnerable populations, particularly women and girls, by supporting climate finance mobilization, evidence-building, and program delivery to address the intersection of climate change with sexual and reproductive health rights.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Gender, Demography, Environmental/Climate Science, Innovation, Sustainability, Public Health, International Development, or other related fields (Master's degree considered an advantage).
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in climate change, environment-related, and innovation fields.
• Fluent English required; working knowledge of French or Arabic desirable.
• Knowledge of policy development processes and ability to analyze policy impacts on different populations.

This is a volunteer position with UNFPA as part of the Youth category. No salary or compensation details are mentioned in the posting. The assignment is for 6 months with possibility of extension, and includes international volunteer status.
