Principal Gifts Officer I

• Manage an active portfolio of 20-25 principal gift donors and advisors, building relationships through personal visits, calls, written contact, events, and engagement with leadership.
• Develop and implement strategies for principal donors and advisors to secure transformative gifts supporting annual revenue and capital campaign targets.
• Build and manage a portfolio of 30-35 principal prospects to qualify them for active engagement and contribution to fundraising targets.
• Contribute to creating personalized funding collateral, budgets, and correspondence, and collaborate across teams to maximize fundraising opportunities.

This role advances Earthjustice's mission to protect people's health, preserve wildlife and places, advance clean energy, and combat climate change by securing transformative gifts that fund critical environmental legal work.

• Eight+ years of successful major gifts fundraising experience with focus on prospect identification, relationship building, and solicitation.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Proven experience directly soliciting and closing seven-figure gifts from individuals and supporting multi-million-dollar capital campaigns.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM databases, with strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
