Open Call - Soil Carbon Field Tech (Contract - Central US based)

• Deploy Yard Stick's novel soil carbon measurement technology and traditional soil testing methodology on fields across the US
• Test hardware and software in fields to evaluate and improve technology accuracy, durability, and usability
• Lead projects for calibrating technology and collecting measurements to quantify carbon stocks on client lands
• Provide feedback on hardware and software tools, document issues, and brainstorm improvements

This role directly contributes to fighting climate change by enabling accurate, affordable soil carbon measurement, which helps expand evidence-based regenerative agricultural practices that remove atmospheric CO2 at gigaton scale while improving soil health and farmer income.

• Education and/or experience in natural sciences, agriculture, conservation, soil science, or related fields
• Extensive experience with physical field work and comfort working outdoors for extended periods
• Comfort with field tools and technologies like GPS, ATVs, and mobile app-based tracking systems
• Strong attention to detail, commitment to following SOPs precisely, and ability to triple-check work
• Personal independence and entrepreneurial autonomy to work independently when needed
• Comfort with extended travel, including spending 1-2 weeks at a time away from home
• Enthusiasm for agriculture and climate change solutions, with authorization to work in the US

$30-40/hour starting pay with performance raises after completing projects. Travel expenses (including pay for travel time) are covered. Yard Stick provides a vehicle if needed or generously reimburses for personal vehicle use.
