Legal Fellowship

Core responsibilities:

• Researching and writing about areas of international law and policy
• Assisting with policy analysis and advocacy
• Attending meetings and conferences
• Assisting with the production of CIEL publications
• Working closely with CIEL staff on various projects

This fellowship provides recent law graduates with experience in international environmental law, helping advance everyone's right to a healthy environment through legal research, policy analysis, and advocacy at the intersection of human rights and environmental protection.

Required qualifications:

• Recently completed or in final stages of completing a graduate degree in law (LLM, JD)
• Willing to make a commitment of at least three months
• Excellent research and writing skills
• Strong dedication to public interest law

This is an unpaid fellowship position. Fellows must come with their own funding (often from a university, third party, or scholarship). The fellowship can be undertaken remotely within specified countries, with potential hybrid options in Washington DC or Geneva offices.
