Mission
What you will drive
Core responsibilities:
- Develop and execute S.T.O.P.'s litigation strategy with focus on surveillance technology and government transparency
- Lead impact litigation in state and federal courts, manage case planning and relationships with outside counsel
- Oversee public records request practice including drafting requests, managing appeals, and litigating denials
- Supervise and mentor legal staff, build internal legal systems, and contribute to organizational strategy as senior leadership

Profile
What makes you a great fit
Required qualifications:
- JD and New York State bar admission with 5+ years of relevant legal experience
- Substantial litigation experience in civil rights, constitutional, impact, and/or complex litigation
- Demonstrated expertise in motion practice, discovery, litigation strategy, and strong legal writing skills
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior attorneys and staff, with ability to manage teams and workflows
- Strong alignment with S.T.O.P.'s mission and commitment to racial, economic, gender, immigration, and disability justice
