Junior Accountant

Core responsibilities:

• Assist with multi-company month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and completing balance sheet reconciliations
• Process multi-state payroll under supervision and support payroll-related activities like garnishments, W-2s, and 1095-Cs
• Support compliance, taxes, and regulatory tasks including state-specific tax filings, workers' compensation filings, and maintaining company compliance requirements
• Review accounts payable transactions for accuracy and provide backup support for accounts payable processing

This role contributes to Mazzetti's mission of 'bending the climate curve' by supporting reliable financial operations that enable the company's work creating healthier, enduring environments through engineering and consulting for Healthcare and Life Sciences facilities.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with 3 years of relevant experience, OR no degree with 5 years of relevant accounting experience
• Prior experience supporting month-end close and reconciliations; experience in AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) environment strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Experience with Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint and Paylocity payroll systems are significant advantages

Compensation and benefits:

• Salary range: $65,000 - $90,000 annually
