Safety Standards Compliance Lead

Core responsibilities:

• Lead the creation, updating, and enforcement of comprehensive compliance policies and procedures aligned with industry best practices
• Plan and execute regular internal audits, assessments, and gap analyses to evaluate compliance effectiveness and identify areas of non-compliance
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with non-compliance, developing risk registers and implementing corrective actions
• Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and prepare comprehensive reports on program effectiveness for leadership

This role helps ensure Waymo's autonomous driving technology meets the highest safety standards, contributing to the company's mission of saving thousands of lives lost to traffic crashes by improving access to safe mobility.

Required qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years proven experience developing, implementing, and managing compliance programs, preferably within automotive OEM with type approval and homologation requirements
• Demonstrated experience leading documentation, operationalization, and process improvement within technical or safety-critical compliance domains
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate compliance requirements and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
• Project management skills to manage compliance initiatives, track progress, and meet deadlines

Compensation and benefits:

• Base salary range: $230,000 - $292,000 USD
