Mission
What you will drive
Core responsibilities:
- Coordinate national partnerships, government engagement, and enable the use of GFW data and tools across partner institutions in Colombia
- Support deployment of satellite-based vessel monitoring enhanced by AI and big-data analytics, and co-develop dashboards and analytical products to strengthen surveillance and enforcement operations
- Champion transparency by preparing briefs and proposals, coordinating meetings and workshops, and engaging with national stakeholders across government and civil society
- Organize and deliver workshops, seminars and training sessions to build capacity of government partners, communities and stakeholders on using technology and data for fisheries and biodiversity management

This role creates positive change by advancing ocean governance through increased transparency, supporting reduction of illegal fishing, protecting small-scale fishers' rights, and improving management of marine protected areas in Colombia and the Eastern Tropical Pacific region.
Profile
What makes you a great fit
Required qualifications:
- University degree in marine sciences, fisheries, international affairs, law, or equivalent professional experience
- At least five years of relevant professional experience in marine sector including fisheries management and enforcement, technology, biodiversity management, and/or conservation
- Strong understanding of Colombia's marine and fisheries institutional landscape and decision-making processes
- Native Spanish speaker with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proven experience collaborating effectively with government and private stakeholders on marine and fisheries issues
Benefits
What's in it for you
Compensation: US$25 per hour (approximately US$52,000 annually based on 40-hour work week). GFW offers pension/retirement, health and other benefits commensurate with similar level GFW employees in the country of employment. The position may be a GFW employee, an employee of our Employer of Record Partner, or a contractor depending on the country of residence.
