Interim Chief Operating Officer (maternity leave cover)

Core responsibilities:

• Ensure operational continuity and delivery coordination across ongoing projects
• Provide technical coordination and risk awareness without hands-on development
• Act as Project Manager on selected high-stakes or sensitive projects
• Support business development, partnerships, and market presence activities

This role ensures continuity of humanitarian technology projects during a leadership transition, helping maintain Relief Applications' ability to deliver digital solutions that support vulnerable populations in crisis situations.

Required qualifications:

• 5-7 years experience in operations management, project coordination, or technical project management
• Strong technical literacy with experience working with digital platforms, data-driven systems, or AI-enabled tools
• Experience working with NGOs, humanitarian organizations, or impact-driven projects
• Excellent written and spoken English and French (mandatory), Spanish is a strong asset

Compensation and work arrangement:

• Salary: €40,000–€50,000 annual gross (pro rata)
• Remote work (Europe-based)
• Flexible workload: 80–100% depending on profile
• 6-month contract with potential for longer-term continuity
• Occasional travel for conferences or client engagements
