Mission

What you will drive

  • Respond to communications from the general public, usually via email or phone calls
  • Triage legal issues and direct clients to participating lawyers and other legal resources
  • Provide basic legal information to the public
  • Use entry and retrieval database programs to make attorney referrals
  • Handle other duties, including research, public relations, marketing and public outreach, as assigned

Profile

What makes you a great fit

  • Fluent communication in written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese), with strong preference for both Mandarin and Cantonese
  • Excellent customer service, phone manner and written/verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills with experience in database programs and Microsoft Office Suite or Google Apps preferred
  • Four-year degree requirement is flexible; will consider current undergraduates interested in law or paralegal studies
  • Experience with the justice system and social service networks serving New York preferred
  • Prior experience managing difficult individuals is a plus
  • Paralegal training preferred
