About

House of SpeakEasy seeks a detail-oriented, systems-driven Grants Administrator to manage our portfolio of public sector funding. This is a contract, part-time, remote position.

Position Title: Grants Administrator (Government & Public Funding)
Reports To: Executive Director (with close collaboration with Development / Finance)
Type: Part-time, Contract / Freelance
Location: New York City (Hybrid preferred). Work must be performed in or near New York, NY.
Compensation: Hourly; up to $50/hour, 8-10 hours a week.
Start Date: February 9, 2026

Position Summary

The Grants Administrator is responsible for managing House of SpeakEasy’s portfolio of public sector funding (city, state, and other government sources). This role ensures excellence in grant administration: applications, contract set-up, documentation, compliance, reporting, invoicing, and reimbursements — with a particular emphasis on portal-based submissions and government processes.

The Grants Administrator will oversee key government grant portals including NYS SFS, DCLA, DYCD, and NYC Council Discretionary / Council Funding processes. The successful candidate will be highly organized, compliance-minded, and comfortable navigating government systems and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of public sector grants (city, state, and other government sources).
  • Ensure excellence in grant administration, including applications, contract set-up, documentation, compliance, reporting, invoicing, and reimbursements.
  • Oversee submissions and processes on key government grant portals (NYS SFS, DCLA, DYCD, NYC Council Discretionary / Council Funding).
  • Navigate government systems and adhere to strict deadlines.
