Grant Writer (Part-Time, Contract)

• Research and identify grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and corporate funders that align with the company's goals.
• Develop high-quality, persuasive grant proposals, concept notes, and supporting materials that articulate our vision, programs, and technical work.
• Manage timelines, submission schedules, and compliance requirements for multiple grants simultaneously.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather information, data, and metrics needed for proposals.

This role helps unlock funding for scalable impact by translating technical work into compelling proposals, supporting rapid EV charging adoption and future energy services like load balancing and affordable backup energy.

• Proven experience writing and winning grants, ideally for hardware.
• Excellent written communication and storytelling skills, with an eye for clarity and impact.
• Strong research and analytical abilities to identify viable funding sources.
• Ability to translate complex technical or product concepts into clear, compelling narratives.

• Part-time, remote contract position with flexible hours (5-20 hours per week depending on grant volume)
• Hourly rate dependent on relevant experience and location
• Option to occasionally work from Berkeley HQ if based in Bay Area
