Mission
What you will drive
- Advise senior management on 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 compliance, tax, intellectual property, corporate governance, benefits, litigation, and employment law issues
- Draft, review, revise, negotiate, and execute contracts including grant agreements, fiscal sponsorship agreements, and vendor contracts
- Lead enterprise risk assessment and mitigation strategies across programs, advocacy campaigns, fundraising, and digital platforms
- Assess legal needs, serve as primary liaison with outside counsel, and advise on risk management practice and insurance matters

Profile
What makes you a great fit
- Juris Doctorate degree and 3-5 years' proven experience in nonprofit contracts administration, risk management, or compliance officer roles
- Current member in good standing with a state bar, with preference for Illinois state bar membership
- Experience in nonprofit governance, including c4 organizations, with strong understanding of general nonprofit law and tax regulations
- Strong understanding of defamation laws and proven ability to perform legal review of public facing documents and social media
