Mission
What you will drive
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our team as our new Fundraising Coordinator.
Weâre hiring for mindset and capability, not just a résumé. Weâre not looking for a polished fundraiser â weâre looking for someone with curiosity to research, discipline to manage detail, and genuine alignment with BZEâs mission to show how Australia can prosper in a zero-emissions economy.Â
Working closely with our CEO, this role is all about setting her up for success. You will support the CEO to focus on our highest-value donor relationships by managing the research, communications, and systems that underpin BZEâs giving programs.Â
This is an ongoing, full-time, hybrid position, with a preference for Melbourne-based candidates. However, we are open to considering applications located elsewhere in Australia.
**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:**
Your day will be varied and include a diverse range of activities such as:Â
• Full responsibility for maintaining our pipeline ensuring a single source of truth for all prospects and donor information
• Conducting research on prospects, preparing briefs and memos for various fundraising initiatives
• Drafting various correspondences in the CEOs voice
• Active participation in all things fundraising - events, meetings, projects
• Coordinating stewardship communications â report releases, updates, invitations, improving workflows over time
• Full administrative support for meetings, version control and acquittals
• Working closely with the Communications team to develop and deliver fundraising content and materials.
Please view the Position Description for full details.
**WHAT WEâRE LOOKING FOR:**
Who you are:
• Highly conscientious â takes pride in getting the small things right, every time
• Takes ownership of outcomes â if it's not in the database, it didn't happen
• Service-oriented â finds genuine satisfaction in enabling others to succeed
• Curious and coachable â treats feedback as fuel, not criticism
• Discreet â handles confidential information with care and judgment
• Internally motivated â energised by the mission and the work itself, not by external recognition or donor-facing visibility
• Team player who is committed to BZEâs vision and proud to be working on making an impact in this space
What you can do:
• Strong written communication â able to draft clearly and adapt to another person's voice
• Competent researcher â can find, synthesise, and present information quickly
• Systematic thinker â naturally creates order, tracks details, follows process
• Comfortable managing up â can keep a busy executive on track without explicit authority
Your experience:Â
• Familiarity with fundraising or operating in a relevant/transferable position within the not for profit sectorÂ
• Managing CRM or database systems
• Prior experience in administrative support, executive assistance, or similar
**WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU: **
• A close working relationship with our CEO, with direct exposure to senior leaders and key donors
• Thorough onboarding and ongoing training, offering rich learning opportunities across fundraising in the climate sector
• A supportive and energising workplace where youâll be part of a focused, friendly team that celebrates each otherâs achievements
• Genuine flexible work arrangements to support your workâlife balance
• Five weeks of paid annual leave, including an extended office closure over the end-of-year holiday period
**TO APPLY**
Weâre looking for candidates that show personality, curiosity, and genuine excitement about this opportunity. We want to get to know you and your writing style â after all, communication is a key part of this role â so we ask that your application be your own original work (no AI).
Applications must be submitted via the BZE website and include:
1. Your current CV
2. A cover letter addressing:
• Why climate action matters to you
• Why you want to work at BZE
• Why now is the right time for you
• Why this role appeals to you
*Please note that we will start the full recruitment process after the Christmas Break when our offices re-open on 12 Jan 2026. *
