Food Policy Lead - Colombia

• Building and maintaining a database of institutions' profiles and key decision-makers in city halls, schools, universities, and other major institutions
• Establishing and maintaining contact with key institutional contacts via emails, phone calls, and meetings to persuade institutions to adopt a meat reduction program in their restaurants
• Coordinating and working with chefs, dietitians, nutritionists, and physicians to implement the program in the institutions
• Carrying out research according to program needs, mainly around the environmental and human health benefits of implementing a meat reduction program

This role creates positive change by reducing animal suffering and promoting more compassionate food choices through implementing meat reduction programs in major public and private institutions in Colombia.

• Fluent Spanish and advanced English
• Desirable: key contacts with major stakeholders in Colombia, as well as previous experience in food policy campaigns and relations with public and private institutions
• Excellent ability to lead negotiations in a kind and constructive manner
• Excellent oral communication, writing, and proofreading skills
• Excellent research and networking skills
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to work both independently and in close coordination with a remote team
• An affinity with animal rights issues and a vegan lifestyle are highly desirable
