Fellow, Legislative Affairs Program

Core responsibilities:

• Develop resources and execute strategic legislative activities to advance priority animal protection legislation
• Provide in-house expertise on legislative questions, including tracking and analysis of animal protection bills
• Manage drafting, editing, and submission of support/opposition memos and testimony
• Work with other departments to create content on legislation and answer policy questions

This role creates positive change by advancing animal protection legislation at local, state, and federal levels, directly contributing to legal protections for animals through strategic legislative campaigns.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Experience with legislative tracking and analysis
• Ability to draft and edit legislative documents and testimony
• Knowledge of policy development and legislative processes
• Collaboration skills to work across departments on legislative content
