Mission
What you will drive
Core responsibilities:
- Support a team of reporters and fellows to center The 19th's story standards and audience needs throughout journalism every day
- Edit stories daily across various types and formats, provide second edits, and prepare stories for publication
- Help design and implement daily, weekly, and monthly coverage plans leveraging audience insights and reporter expertise
- Work with reporters to develop stories, diversify sourcing, assign story ideas, and monitor news to connect gender to politics, policy, and power

Profile
What makes you a great fit
Required skills and experience:
- 4+ years of experience editing and assigning stories in a newsroom
- Demonstrated news judgment and ability to publish audience-centered stories across various story types and formats
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication with experience using digital tools for remote collaboration
- Experience using content management systems (WordPress), calendar tools (Airtable), and audience analytics tools (Parsely)

- Salary range: $105,000 - $140,000
