Director of Finance

Core responsibilities:

• Overall financial management of Sunrise Inc including financial analysis and reporting, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow, audit and management of external service providers
• Work with the COO and Board's FRAC committee to oversee cash flow and investment decisions, ensuring alignment with policies while optimizing returns
• Develop, implement, and monitor Sunrise's financial strategy to minimize environmental footprint and ensure operations align with organizational mission and values
• Manage, guide and nurture a vibrant and inclusive team culture while supporting team members to unleash their potential

This role contributes to scaling social movements and accelerating the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy by ensuring financial sustainability and resilience, while embedding environmental sustainability and commitment to justice and equity into operational practices across the global Sunrise network.

Required skills and experience:

• Previous substantial experience in a senior finance management position within a complex multi-disciplinary organization (preference for philanthropy/grant-making sector)
• CPA certification or equivalent membership of a professional accounting body
• Deep understanding of compliance obligations in the US (501c3 charities), with added value in one or more EU states and/or the UK
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex projects while juggling competing priorities
• Demonstrated experience in building and leading culturally diverse and inclusive teams
• Full working rights for the United States, United Kingdom, or an EU state
