Director of Finance and Administration

Core responsibilities:

• Oversee NECHAMA's financial policies, procedures, and annual organizational budget, producing monthly financial statements and managing the annual audit process
• Manage administration and internal operations including human resources, benefits programs, compliance with employment laws, and business insurance coverage
• Serve as liaison with board committees, external vendors, legal counsel, and oversee operational systems including software, document management, and fleet maintenance
• Develop strategies to operationalize NECHAMA's commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and combat climate change

This role supports NECHAMA's disaster response operations, enabling the organization to provide sustained recovery services to communities shattered by natural disasters while humanizing Jewish values and offering volunteer opportunities across faiths.

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in nonprofit social impact or mission-driven sector in operations, finance, administration, and/or human roles
• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in accounting, finance or organizational management, with significant understanding of budgets and bookkeeping
• Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and problem-solve innovatively
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, Quickbooks Online, and CRM systems; experience with remote work environments and commitment to racial equity

Salary range: $72,000 - $82,000 depending on experience. Full-time remote position with flexibility to work anywhere in the United States.
