Director, Legal Ops & Legal Systems Innovation

Core responsibilities:

• Oversee the design and operation of effective legal technology and administrative systems to support Earthjustice's various legal programs
• Develop and implement the General Counsel's and legal teams' legal technology strategy in collaboration with IT leadership
• Support GC staff in compliance and risk management responsibilities
• Oversee a team of skilled professionals and manage vendor relationships and external service providers

This role supports Earthjustice's mission to protect people's health, preserve places and wildlife, advance clean energy, and combat climate change by ensuring efficient legal operations and technology systems that enable the organization's environmental law work.

Required qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive legal operations experience, with at least 2 years in a management role within a legal department or law firm
• Strong leadership, communication, and management skills with demonstrated ability to use change management practices
• Tech-savvy and well-versed in legal enterprise software, tools, and applications with strong knowledge of matter management systems
• Superb project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
