Data Engineer

Core responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain platform components on Databricks Lakehouse, Spark, and Python that are reusable across multiple products and teams
• Develop orchestration, metadata management, lineage, and data quality frameworks that improve trust and velocity across the data ecosystem
• Build and support infrastructure for MLOps, including model registries, feature stores, and serving pipelines
• Partner with product engineers, analytics, and data science teams to provide scalable abstractions and self-service tooling

Your work directly impacts Uplight's mission of decarbonization and building a more sustainable future by creating clean energy capacity that can be used by the power grid instead of burning more fossil fuels.

Required skills and experience:

• 2–5 years of software engineering experience, ideally in data infrastructure or platform roles
• Experience with Databricks, Spark, or similar big data platforms
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for platform and pipeline development
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
