Crop Modeler - Climate & GHG Emissions

• Develop / support process-based model simulations of management practices (i.e., seeding, irrigation, residue, fertilizer) and environmental outcomes
• Quantify cropland GHG emissions, SOC, and yield across small holder farms in S Asia
• Integrate control vs treatment landscape experiments into model simulations working with field data and science team
• Support carbon credit quantification and MRV metrics

This role creates positive change by using satellite/AI/field-data to drive real change in reducing methane emissions and water-intensive practices of rice farming, directly impacting climate and smallholder farmer livelihoods.

• 1+ years experience in crop modeling such as DSSAT or APSIM
• Masters (or PhD) level knowledge with crop model applications (parameterization, simulations, evaluations)
• Knowledge of basic agriculture and soil science principles, climate, and agri-management practices. Interest in evaluating impact of management practices on GHG, SOC, and yield. Understanding of rice cultivation would be a plus.
• Some experience in Python, R, SQL, GIS, and/or database management
• Knowledge or interest in sustainability, carbon markets, and MRV platforms
• Comfortable working with agile data scientists, high-growth environments, ticketing
