Business Mentor

Core responsibilities:

• Develop micro-enterprises by identifying potential areas for program implementation, mobilizing qualified groups, and spearheading the start of approved businesses
• Provide training and mentoring to business owners on choosing and running businesses, with at least two visits per month to each business
• Organize and support Business Savings Groups (BSGs) with training on formation for self-directed savings and loans
• Submit monthly activity progress reports, business profiles, and success stories as requested

This role helps lift 52,000 individuals from poverty by training 8,100 entrepreneurs to launch 2,700 small businesses, enabling households to improve coffee quality and yields and increase and diversify incomes.

Required qualifications and experience:

• Minimum qualification of Degree in Social work, Education, Business Management or related field
• 1-year experience in teaching, training, mentoring and/or community work with adults
• Ability to read, write, communicate and deliver business training in Amharic and local languages (Kaffagna) spoken in the project area
• Capability in conducting field work and residence in the specified area or willing to reside at woreda, kebele, and village level of operation
