Associate Principal Engineer - Renewable Studies

Core responsibilities:

• Function as a subject matter expert on complex projects within the System Studies department, working closely with Technical Directors and the Vice President
• Conduct electrical studies primarily for renewable facilities, including short circuit, reactive power/load flow, arc flash, dynamic, transient, harmonic, compliance, ampacity, and grounding studies
• Establish study templates, methodologies, and best practices for electrical system studies and serve as SME for study software related questions and troubleshooting
• Provide regulatory compliance services for all project design phases from conceptual design through project testing and commissioning

This role contributes to the development of renewable energy facilities by conducting essential electrical studies and ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting the transition to cleaner energy sources and reducing environmental impact.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution (electric power option preferred)
• 7+ years of relevant engineering or field experience
• FE licensure required, PE licensure preferred
• Proficiency in power system modeling software including PowerFactory, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, Easypower, Aspen, Windmil, CAPE, CDEGS, WinIGS, PSSe, PSLF, Cymcap, and PSCAD
