Associate Director for Professional Learning

Core responsibilities:

• Demonstrate leadership in professional adult learning for independent schools through the selection of content and the design and implementation of educational programming
• Organize and implement all logistical and administrative requirements for residential conferences and institutes, including planning venue logistics, writing program descriptions, managing registrations and budgets, and producing conference materials
• Maintain a network of presenters, facilitators, and speakers to support the development and delivery of learning events
• Collaborate to deliver professional learning initiatives, programs, calendars, and timelines with NYSAIS staff and volunteer committees

This role creates positive change by developing and implementing professional learning programs that support independent schools across New York State, fostering educational excellence and leadership development while honoring diversity and inclusion principles.

Required skills, experience, qualifications:

• B.A. or B.S. degree (advanced degree preferred) with experience in and/or understanding of independent schools
• Demonstrated working knowledge of current research, practice, and theory related to adult learning
• Computer skills including proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Asana, and Zoom
• Strong written and oral communication skills with strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate to a wide variety of people
• Self-starter and independent worker with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Extensive knowledge of organization, planning, records management, and general administration
