Android Engineer

• Design, build, deliver, maintain, and extend features and functionality that solve real customer problems for Swiftly's connected transit platform
• Contribute technically to Swiftly's mobile applications, with optional contributions to backend and API systems
• Partner with product management, design, and engineers to discover the right solutions to customer problems, including building prototypes and estimating effort
• Deliver functionality that helps the team make progress on the product vision by anticipating dependencies, breaking down work, and demonstrating incremental progress

This role helps improve transit efficiency and reliability through real-time data and mobile applications, ultimately increasing ridership and reducing environmental impact by making public transportation more effective.

• 3+ years software engineering experience building Android applications in Kotlin
• Strong experience in modern Android paradigms and toolkits including Kotlin coroutines and Jetpack Compose
• A passion for quality, reliability, and stability demonstrated through performance monitoring, observability, and testing
• Bonus for additional mobile (iOS) or full stack development experience, or experience with map-based applications or real-time communication

• Competitive salary with US range: $107,000 - $175,000 and Canadian range: $117,000 - $160,000
