AI Reporting Grants

Core responsibilities:

• Apply for grants to cover hard costs of reporting projects on AI and surveillance technologies
• Submit comprehensive application materials including project description, budget estimate, and distribution plan
• Manage grant funds for travel expenses, data analysis, local reporting partner fees, and other reporting costs
• Collaborate with media outlets and other journalists on cross-platform reporting projects

This role supports investigative journalism on AI and surveillance technologies, increasing public understanding of these critical issues and promoting accountability in technology development and implementation.

Required qualifications:

• Freelancer or staff journalist with commitment from media outlets
• Experience in journalism with published work samples
• Ability to provide professional references
